Tea and Coffee products present special problems to the conveyor manufacturer. Tea generates dust and bruises when handled aggressively, Coffee beans crack and lose the kernel when conveyed pneumatically. Both systems require gentle handling in an enclosed dust free system. Aero-Mechanical conveyors have proven highly effective in these applications. Not only is dust avoided but the gentle nature of conveying preserves the integrity of the product. In comparison tests with lean phase pneumatic conveying the Aerocon Conveyors recorded a bulk density variation of 0.1% after three conveying runs.

By contrast the pneumatic system increase the bulk density of the product by 12%. With conveying rates as high as 20ft3/min from an energy use of just three horsepower the Aero-mechanical conveyor is not only better at handling the product but considerably more economic to run.

Pre-Blending

Since Aero-Mechanical Conveyors do not pressurize it is possible to have multiple inlets without the need for air locks. This allows the addition of different cuts of tea form storage via suitably calibrated feeders. As the product conveyors the gentle air turbulence caused, pre-blends during the blender loading operation. This improves the blend and reduces the blending time.

No Segregation

Inside the conveyor is an endless cable with discs equi-spaced along its' length. These Polymer discs form a natural barrier to the segregation of fines as the product travels. This is particularly important prior to tea bagging and packing machines. Product can be conveyed from the blender to production without segregation

Gentle Handling

Both Tea and Coffee are naturally friable products. Cracked coffee beans or 'bruised' tea result in unacceptable flavor variances. The Aerocon Conveyors transport product in either a fluidized state or by gentle pushing of the material along the tubes. In Both cases the impact between product and conveyor is minimized resulting in very low degradation.

Low Headroom

In almost every case the available headroom above bagging machines is seriously limited! When considering the installation of any conveyor system low profile is always an advantage. Without out the need for filter or cyclone separation, the Aero-Mechanical uses less than 16" of height per discharge point. This can be further reduced if necessary

Multiple Outlets

Aero-Mechanical Conveyors use simple gravity outlets for discharge. In applications such as tea halls, where it is not uncommon for lines of 30 tea bag fillers in a row, the Rotating Tube Valve offer multiple outlets with Zero Dead Pocket. Top up designs keep the tea bagger supplied with product.
