The Aerocon Bulk Bag Unloader was specifically designed to provide an easy, clean and economical way to discharge the entire contents of bulk and semi-bulk bags, especially when the material is less than free flowing.

Bags can be placed in the unloader by forklift, hoist or crane from floor level. An integral hoist on a monorail can be furnished if desired. Standard arrangement includes a bag frame to which the suspension loops of the bag can be attached while the bag is resting on the floor. The bag is then raised and positioned so the hooks on the frame engage a counter-balanced suspension frame in the superstructure of the unloader.

When lowered, the bottom of the bag rests on a sealing ring in the unloader bed and the tension on the bag loops keep the bag upright. Optional pneumatically operated actuator petals (patented) massage the lower portion of the bag to promote material flow toward the center of the bag. Material can discharge gravity into storage, a process vessel or a aero-conveying system for transfer to another location. Modular construction of the discharge portion underneath the bed facilitates the use of a wide range of devices such as feed screws, rotary valves, lump breakers, etc.

Aerocon bulk bag unloaders are available in painted carbon steel or stainless steel construction accepted by the USDA Food Services and Inspection Group. They are also available less the superstructure for applications where the bag is to be kept upright with the hoist, crane or fork lift that places it in position.

Bag Dump Station - Model A104121

The Aerocon bag dump station provides operators with a means of dumping bags safely, and from a convenient level. With a bag rest tray and grate coupled with an air deflector baffle and optional dust collector, spillage and dust are eliminated.

The Aerocon bag dump station comes standard with either an 8-inch hole and collar for connection to an existing dust collector; or, a highly effective dust collector with integral fan and continuous pulse filter cleaning.

The internal removable air baffle directs air and dust downward through the grate, and to the rear away from the operator. For cleaning purposes the baffle is easily lifted out without tools.

Features

  • Lift up door with gas spring assist.
  • Sturdy square tubular frames with height adjustment.
  • Carbon steel construction.
  • Bag resting tray and heavy duty grate.
  • Easily removable air deflector baffle.
  • Standard 8" diameter stub for connection to another dust collector.
  • Heavy duty two part epoxy finish.
  • TEFC motor and Dacron coated filters on dust collector model.

Options

  • Stainless steel construction.
  • Live front panel hopper.
  • Screw discharger for metered feed.
  • Glove box construction with empty bag disposal port.
  • PTFE filter media.
  • level control (s)
  • Explosion proof fan motor and controls.
  • Static conductive filter media.

Method of Operation

The solids may be introduced manually, through a bag dump station, or aero-mechanical conveyor into the entrance tube. As material is drawn into the auger assembly moves down into the vessel, to insure positive placement of the solids to the liquid in the vessel. The auger assembly is moved up and down by a pneumatic motor and reducer. The solid material travels down the stainless steel flighting, until it reaches a spinning machined valve assembly, that distributes the material in an even circular pattern. This helps to insure the quick dilution of the solids.

The machined valve assembly is used in the off cycle as a close off valve, restricting the entry into the vessel, and preventing fumes and particulate matter from escaping into the plant environment.
